Around 80% of trash is put into landfills, 10% is burned ( which is air polluting) :(, And only 10% is recycled :0 which is bad because the average person makes around 3.5 pounds of trash a day

Americans use about 50 million tons of paper a year which consumes around 850 million trees (doesn't that just make you want to recycle?)

If you recycled the whole Sunday issue print run of New York Times it would save 75,000 trees

If you use recycled paper you can save around 60% of the water that's used for making paper

Thanks to gamil.com (which has some very interesting blogs) we learned that there is a boat called the Plastiki made entireally of recycled plastic! It is powered by solar panels and turbines.
